MALAWI MIDFIELDER SET FOR MOLDOVAN TRIALS

Malawi wonder boy Peter Banda has been turning heads in his country with his impressive performances for his club and he's set to storm Moldovan football for trials. Peter Banda plays his club football for Malawi top division outfit Nyasa Big Bullets. The scheduled visit to Moldovan football for Peter Banda for trials was confirmed by Nyasa Big Bullets earlier this month.

If his trials proved to be successful, Peter Banda will join former teammate Charles Petro in Moldovan football. Peter Banda and Charles Petro were teammates at Nyasa Big Bullets before the latter left Malawi for Moldovan football giants FC Sheriff Tiraspol. FC Sheriff Tiraspol are the biggest club in Moldovan football and they are the reigning champions in the top flight.

FC Sheriff Tiraspol won the last edition of the league in 2019 to make it league title no. 18 ahead of Zimbru Chisinau. Zimbru Chisinau have won the league title eight times and they are the second most successful club in the history of Moldovan football behind FC Sheriff. Dacia Chisinau, FC Tiraspol and MilsamiOrhei are the other teams to win the league title in the top division of Moldovan football.
Sheriff Tiraspol are the current league leaders for this season and they are the overwhelming favourites to retain the title they won two years ago. They have a six-point advantage at the top of the table having played a game more than nearest challengers PetrocubHincesti. Charles Petro is on the books ofFC Sheriff Tiraspol as pointed out earlier and he plays in the defence for the team also known as The Wasps. Peter Banda could join him in Moldova if he has a successful trial. His managerGriffin Saenda Jr. and Bullets’ administrative officer Albert Chigogaconfirmed that the player will fly out to Moldova on January 14 ahead of a one-month trial from January 15 to February 15 of this year.
