Moldovan coach Igor Dobrovolski is currently under pressure following the poor run of results by the national side. Indeed the team has been beaten by Serbia as well as the Republic of Ireland in the latest round of games counting for the World Cup qualifiers.

Moldova continued to struggle when it comes to games against the top teams and it was aptly reflected in the 3-1 loss against the Republic of Ireland.

Wales continue from their Euro 2016 high as they thrash their opponents Moldova 4-0, starting the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign on a good note.

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey may miss out the game that will see his team face Moldova in the World Cup qualifiers.

It is believed that the player was not ready physically to play in such an intense game after having played the final stage of the Euros with Wales. The Welsh team is currently awaiting reports from the Arsenal medical staff to find out for how long the player will be out.

Moldova will kick-off their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign against Wales on the 5th of September with a match against Wales.

They will be playing their first game away in the Welsh capital. Moldova has been placed in the Group D. Other teams in the group consist of Austria, Serbia, Ireland and Georgia. This is by far one of the toughest groups and Moldova will have to produce their best football if they want to have a chance in the qualifying campaigns. 3 of the teams in the group are participating in the Euros 2016, and this shows the quality of the group.

Moldova will be playing Croatia in a friendly match on May 27 as the Croatia team look to intensify their preparation for the Euros. Moldova, who is not qualified for the Euros, will want to use this opportunity to assess themselves against one of the better teams on the continent.

Moldava is set to play visitors in an international friendly football game with hosts Switzerland on Friday.

The hosts are believed to want to use the game to round up their Euro 2016 Finals preparations with a victory in front of their home support.

Moldova was held by Malta in a goalless draw which served as a preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.

Both coaches sent their best starting eleven on the pitch, but the football level failed to reach any sort of standard.

Both teams were content to play the ball in midfield without showing any urgency in attack. Apart from two rare occasions by Malta, there were not a lot of occasions.

The Moldavian football team had a recent friendly match with Malta which ended in a draw with no goals scored.

It was a drab match indeed and fans are hoping that the next round of friendly matches will have some more excitement in them. Malta has been committed to play a couple of friendly matches in 2016. This match was one of the matches which have been planned. The start was indeed a low key one.
